About MoneyHole
A deeply trustworthy and absolutely unaffiliated offshoot of the ClickHole Extended Universe.
We're not ClickHole. We're not The Onion. We are a wholly independent financial satire publication with no fiduciary duties and zero liquidity. Please stop asking us for money.
MoneyHole is a satire publication about money, markets, work, and the heroic little lies people tell to survive all three. We publish short, devastatingly accurate pieces that look like finance reporting and feel like a mirror you didn't ask for and legally cannot return.
Our coverage lives at the intersection of personal finance, macroeconomic despair, and vibe-based investing. If CNBC, a Roth IRA, and a broken vending machine had a baby, that baby would be left in our care and immediately turned into content.
We publish from Omaha, the financial news capital of Nebraska.
What We Believe
We Celebrate the Absurd. The modern economy is a joke, and we're just writing it down. Spending 90 minutes comparing 14 brands of beans to save $3.41? Strategic alpha. Making a $700 impulse purchase because it came with "points"? Also strategic alpha.
We Are Not an Advice Column. We are not the voice of a generation. We are its debt collector, here to garnish your hope with a smile.
We Report It Straight. Every piece we publish is fictional, and every piece we publish is formatted like it isn't. The dateline is real journalism's load-bearing wall, and we lean on it constantly.
What We Are Not
- Your adviser, broker, fiduciary, therapist, or emergency contact.
- A doom blog. If the joke lands, there's still a pulse.
- A PAC in newsletter cosplay.
- The voice of a generation.
- Affiliated with any company, fund, or agency named on this site.
What We Publish
MoneyHole Mutants — Profiles of readers running money strategies of extraordinary rigor and questionable necessity. We do not correct them.
MoneyHole Hacks — Frugality advice that works, technically.
Exclusives — Original reporting the rest of the financial press either missed or successfully avoided.
The MoneyMutant Show — Our weekly audio program. Listener submissions are read on air and run through the numbers.
The Fine Print
MoneyHole is satire. Nothing here is financial advice, and nothing here happened. Every article carries the byline MoneyHole Staff. The full disclaimer is in the footer of every page, and it is worth reading, because we wrote it very carefully.
